Ray Barretto - 29/04/1929
Fue un percusionista estadounidense, uno de los más destacados compositores e intérpretes de jazz latino.

Dia para recordar a Duke Ellington. Un dia como hoy, 29/04 pero de 1899 nace el compositor, pianista y director de orquesta mas importante del JAZZ. junto a Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker y Miles Davis.
Ha podido escritir mas de 2.000 composiciones musicales a lo largo de su vida.

El 28 de Abril del 2005 nos dejaba Percy Heath  contrabajista de jazz estadounidense, hermano del saxofonista tenor Jimmy Heath.
Heath también trabajó junto a Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery y Thelonious Monk, y formó parte del Modern Jazz Quartet.

Earl Bostic -25 abril 1912 a 28 octubre 1965-
Sus exitos mas populares son Flamingo y Harlem Nocturne. Él fue una gran influencia en John Coltrane. Hizo su primera grabación con Lionel Hampton en octubre de 1939, con Charlie Christian, Clyde Hart y Gran Sid Catlett.
Formó su propia banda en 1945 e hizo las primeras grabaciones bajo su propio nombre para el sello Majestic.
En varios momentos de su banda incluyen Keter Betts , Jaki Byard , Benny Carter , John Coltrane , Teddy Edwards , Benny Golson , Azul Mitchell , Tony Scott , Acantilado Smalls , Sir Charles Thompson , Stanley Turrentine , Tommy Turrentine y otros músicos que saltó a la fama, especialmente en el jazz.

Saxo tenor y compositor estadounidense.
Sus primeros trabajos profesionales fueron con Sonny Stitt, Donald Byrd y Pepper Adams
Después se instala en Nueva York, donde dirige un quinteto con Kenny Dorham. Más tarde trabaja con Horace Silver (1964-1965), Freddie Hubbard y Herbie Hancock.
